Why Tanzania
Africa's Greatest Wildlife Destination. Nothing Else Comes Close.
Tanzania is home to some of the most iconic wildlife landscapes on Earth. From the sweeping savannahs of the Serengeti to the volcanic wonder of the Ngorongoro Crater, every corner of this country promises encounters that feel straight out of a nature documentary.
The Big Five
Tanzania is one of the best places on Earth to see lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino in their natural habitat. The Ngorongoro Crater is a virtual Noah's Ark, inhabited by almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa.
The Great Migration
Over 1.5 million wildebeest, along with hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles, travel in a huge loop following the rains. This journey covers around 1,800 miles and involves dramatic river crossings, predator encounters, and staggering herd dynamics.
Ngorongoro Crater
A UNESCO World Heritage Site and Tanzania's number one wildlife attraction. This immense volcanic caldera acts as a natural sanctuary, making it one of the best places on Earth for an unforgettable safari. You can visit it year-round.
Tarangire and Beyond
The Northern Circuit also includes the beautiful Tarangire National Park, famous for its enormous elephant herds and iconic baobab trees, as well as Lake Manyara and the dramatic landscapes of the Ngorongoro highlands.
Premium Add-On Experience
Hot Air Balloon Safari: See the Serengeti from the Sky
Hot air balloons are a fantastic way to go on safari. While you won't get close to the animals, the expansive bird's-eye view you enjoy is truly breathtaking. You get to appreciate the landscape as well as the wildlife and their numbers and patterns of movement on a whole other level.
With the Great Wildlife Migration, a hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti is a sublime way to see the immense herds of wildebeest, zebra and antelope stretched for miles across the landscape. A hot air balloon safari is the perfect add-on to a classic safari itinerary: drive, then take to the sky!

One of the World's Best Balloon Safari Destinations
Serengeti National Park, Tanzania, is ranked as one of the two best hot air balloon safari locations in the world. There is simply no better place to experience this from the air.
The Great Migration from Above
Float silently above the largest land-based animal migration on Earth. The sheer scale of the herds, stretching for miles across the golden plains, is a perspective you simply cannot get from a game vehicle.
A Premium Experience Worth Every Moment
A balloon safari is a premium experience and is priced accordingly. We'll happily advise on the best time of year and operators to use when you enquire. It pairs perfectly with a classic game drive itinerary.
